Match report by Craig Monaghan.

After two pre-season games the sub-16 side got away to a great start beating Benfica 38-0. Starting slowly with a number of handling errors we allowed Benfica to control the pace and after a quarter of the game gone we were still only 5-0 up and just matching a highly spirited Benfica side.
In the second spell of the first half we slowly pulled away, or I should probably use the word quickly - as the faster the game got the better we looked.  This side is outstanding at fast tempo rugby and we are working hard at pressurised passing drills so that with this fast tempo game the passes stick.  It was far from perfect but a great start to our campaign.  The sub-16 squad has commitment and a wonderful spirit and defending the line there is no better side.

Player of the day was Tomás Silver whose 4 steals in the tackle gave us the impetus we needed. Tin Tin Bader also impressed playing at centre, fly half and scrum half (probably the world's biggest scrum half).
