Match Report by Lorne King On Saturday 10th April the sub 14 St. Julian's team
participated in a four team tournament at Colégio Pedro Arrupe. The four teams
were St. Julian's, CPA, Direito and Loulé. The sub 14 team were hit hard with
withdrawals, as it was still a school holiday, but we still managed to get a
competitive team together. The rugby went well and we recorded two 4 tries to
nil victories over Loulé and CPO. As Direito had lost both their games to the
same opposition it was decided not play the third game. Although the victories
look comfortable, we were made to work hard for them, and the tries only arrived
later in the game when we had broken down the opposition's resistance. Our
forwards were particularly impressive and linked well with the backs. The
ball-handling definitely needs some work though, as we dropped quite a few balls
and left some tries out there. A positive afternoon nonetheless.
